Sewing

I’ve been sewing since I first asked my mother for some material, needle and thread so I could make my doll a dress. I was 4. I graduated to a sewing machine when I was 10. My father had converted an old treadle machine by adding an electric motor to run it.

I sewed clothes for myself, friends and family and some small non-clothes things I invented. Then I stepped up to sewing for my home. Drapes, curtains, slipcovers for couches and chairs. You name it, I did it!

Although I had early experience with quilting when I was 7, I didn’t begin quilting for real for another 36 years. And I have been quilting every since!
