Go Green!

One BIG way to to help our environment is also extremely healthful. That's changing from meat eating to non-meat eating. Becoming a vegan is good for us because it supplies many needed but missing nutrients in our diet.

By eliminating meat from our diet we not only save lives of animals, but help eliminate the high polution levels caused by raising all kinds of livestock from chickens to beef, etc in confined areas. The high level of methane produced by feedlots where beef are fattened for slaughter has been thought to be the single biggest contributor to the hole in the ozone. Also, the urine levels of pig farms has greatly polluted the ground and/or water in areas surrounding them.

And think about this - the expected pandemic of bird flu in the future will be rapidly spread through the human populations by the domestic chickens that are raised in large numbers in tiny cages all jammed together so that the sick chickens can not be identified and isolated before they infect the whole flock. Then the flu will jump from domestic to wild to domestic to people, etc, etc, etc. Worse than the influenza outbreak of 1918! Check out the information on this and a healthful vegan diet Here!
